Non-linear Web-systems Development
Xyztems is a system-wide operational framework of Lewis Works providing backend support to the working articulation and developmental foundation of Lewis Works meta-system framework. The primary Xyztems framework is the multi-site web-system that has been the digital, Internet backbone of Lewis Works. The web-system has been the main digital mechanism of communication and information dissemination of Lewis Works, and remains the primary means of meta-systems delivery and organization in an increasingly paperless world.
Internet Information and Knowledge Legitimization The Internet is the vanguard of a new information revolution that is based upon digital and other forms of electronic information storage capacity and transmission/communication. Information obtained through the Internet is often devalued, especially by Academicians, because the freedom and potential of the Internet threatens received traditions of knowledge transmission, storage and management. The question of the reliability and validity of information drawn from the Internet is subject to critical sanction. At the same time, the Internet has become a source for a new form of plagiarism and copyright violation upon a massive scale that is extensive and virtually uncontrollable. It is the opinion of Lewis Meta-systems that the question of freedom and the potential of the Internet far outweighs the considerations of the limited viability, liability, superficiality and potential unreliability of information obtained through the Internet. This constitutes a form of prejudice and sanctioning that serves to constrain and undercut the potential value and hence the freedom of the Internet by the superimposition of certain social and cultural sanctions and ultimately arbitrary standards of evaluation upon it. Traditional institutions of knowledge storage and dissemination/transmission must reevaluate their roles and purpose in the light of the new information revolution that has been engendered by the Internet. The freedom of the Internet merely extends the compass of responsibility of both the sender and receiver of its various forms of information transmission to do so in a wise, critically informed and ethically responsible manner.
